simplemode

Software, simplified.

We build the software you need — no jargon, no bloat, no endless discovery phases.

Most teams don’t need more technology. They need the right technology.

Software projects usually fail for a simple reason: they get overcomplicated. Vendors oversell, scope balloons, timelines slip. We started simplemode to do the opposite. We take the time to understand your problem, build the simplest thing that solves it well, and hand you something your team can actually live with.

simplemode is deliberately small — no account managers, no handoffs to a junior bench. The people below are the people you’ll work with: senior engineers whose paths barely overlap, from platform architecture at Microsoft to devices and robotics at Amazon to AI in healthcare. Between us, most problems look familiar from somewhere.

Our habits come from places where software serves hundreds of millions of people and a bad release makes the news. We kept the discipline — and left the bureaucracy. That’s what big-tech experience is worth to you.

Casey Yu, cofounder of simplemode, in front of a glacier

Casey Yu

cofounder

Casey has spent her career bringing order to systems that have outgrown their architecture. As a Principal Architect at Microsoft she led large-scale performance transformations, aligning many teams around one technical goal at a time. A Staff Engineer run at Block and a stint as a startup CTO showed her both big-company scale and small-company speed — and which habits to keep from each. She treats constraints as invitations to invent.

Michael Beskin, cofounder of simplemode, in a garden

Michael Beskin

cofounder

Michael has spent twelve years building systems that have to work every time: client code in Alexa’s speech-recognition path, hardware abstraction layers for ATMs — where a bug isn’t an inconvenience, it’s someone’s money — deployment systems for Amazon’s Scout delivery robots already out in the world, and the evaluation harness for Amazon’s foundation models. The systems are the craft; the person using them is the point.

Daniel Pourhadi, founding engineer at simplemode

Daniel Pourhadi

founding engineer

Dan spent the last six years building software in healthcare, where the data is messy and the stakes are real. At K Health he co-architected their next-generation telehealth platform, led the engineering team, and shipped patient-facing AI agents grounded in live FHIR records. Sixteen years across native mobile, backend, and ML, all of it self-taught — he learned to program on a Palm III in middle school, which is either a credential or a diagnosis.

01

Custom software, built right

Web platforms, internal tools, integrations, and infrastructure designed to fit your business, not the other way around.

02

AI, where it actually helps

We know modern AI well, which is exactly why we’ll tell you when you need it — and when a simpler solution will serve you better.

03

Modernization without the drama

Legacy systems, technical debt, half-finished projects. We’ve seen it all, and we’re happy to clean it up.

Ready when you are.

Tell us what’s slowing you down, and we’ll give you an honest read on whether we can help. If we’re not the right fit, we’ll say so and point you somewhere better.

No pitch decks. No pressure. Just a straight answer.
